Zemo Partnership's ongoing partnership with Welsh Government continued with 'Moving to Zero, Cardiff'. The event focused on innovative solutions for urban fleets in Wales, putting decarbonisation, efficiency and cost at the heart of the decision-making process. "A fantastic day" and "brilliant venue" commented one attendee on LinkedIn.
Early sessions at the event focused on collaboration and problem-solving with car sharing, logistics, last mile planning, and multi-modal transport all part of the mix.
The event was held at Techniquest which delegates comments is a highly appropriate backdrop for a day focused on innovation, science, and progress.
Across the day, speakers, panels, and interactive workshops explored some of the most pressing and interconnected challenges including congestion, air pollution and last mile delivery. The event made clear that decarbonisation isn’t just about vehicles it’s about whole systems, including charging infrastructure which most be allied with integrated planning and considerations of behaviour change.
Delegates and speakers included representatives from government, industry and academia.
The event was part of a series which will help inform Zemo's two-year collaboration with Welsh Government and develop policies and initiatives to decarbonise Wales' freight sector. A previous 'Symud i Sero | Moving to Zero event took place in Carmarthen (see link below).
