Description:
This workshop, organised by Zemo Partnership in collaboration with the Cold Chain Federation (CCF), will bring key industry players together to learn about the findings of two recent reports and plan the next steps on the journey to decarbonisation.
Zemo published its report Emissions Testing of Two Auxiliary Transport Refrigeration Units in September 2021. This work, funded by Transport Scotland, provides further evidence regarding the likely real-world pollutant emissions from such devices and sets out a series of next steps recommendations to reduce the sector’s environmental impacts. The CCF report The Journey to Emission Free Temperature-Controlled Refrigeration on Road Vehicles was published in October 2021. It sets out CCF’s vision for how transport refrigeration units (TRUs) can transition away from diesel, to emission free alternatives in line with the UK’s decarbonisation and air quality targets.
As well as presentations from the authors of the Zemo and CCF reports, workshop attendees will also hear from experts in some of the alternative technologies being developed and be invited to contribute their ideas for accelerating the market.
