The 2021 Zemo Partnership Annual Conference was held online on Tuesday, 20 July 2021. Recordings from the event and other materials are now accessible on the event platform (until 18 August) and on a dedicated resources page on the Zemo Partnership website.

Around 550 delegates attended the fully on-line event and in so doing avoided over 115,000 travel miles in total compared with travelling to attend a physical event held in central London. (Calculations based on the results of a delegate feedback survey.)

The event, which was framed around the Government's recently published Transport Decarbonisation Plan, featured a keynote speech from transport minister Rachel Maclean MP.

In a delegate feedback survey, 83% said they found the event 'very good' or 'good' and 15% said it was 'average'.  About 25% of respondents said the event was better than previous Zemo Partnership (or LowCVP) conferences they've attended.

Focused on how the decarbonisation of transport will impact on real people, the event included short video contributions from a range of transport stakeholders and breakout sessions looking at a variety of the challenges, solutions and wider benefits of a rapid move to net zero emissions in transport.

A survey carried out by Zemo Partnership before the conference found that expert stakeholders think that decarbonising road transport by 2050 is possible but new policies - and a focus beyond technology – will be crucial. (For more details see this news story.)
