Zemo's 20th Anniversary Conference took place on 15 June 2023 (Clean Air Day) at City Hall, London, supported by the Mayor of London. The event was attended by a capacity audience of over 200 delegates. More than 75% of post-event survey respondents said the event was either 'excellent' or 'very good'. All the event resources, including a summary video, are now available on Zemo's dedicated web page.

Speakers at the event included Seb Dance and Shirley Rodrigues, London's Deputy Mayors for transport and energy & environment respectively, Chris Stark, Chief Executive of the Climate Change Committee, Bob Moran, DfT's Deputy Director for Decarbonisation Strategy, leading representatives of devolved national administrations in Scotland and Wales, plus senior stakeholders from industry, academia and other areas of Government.

The Anniversary Reception and twenty-year awards were hosted by journalist and broadcaster, Ginny Buckley, who is also founder of electrifying.com.

The event provided an opportunity to reflect on the achievements in terms of road transport decarbonisation over the last twenty years as well as identify what needs to be done to achieve net zero transport by 2050, including Zemo's future role in achieving that objective.

Resources available on Zemo's event 'hub' include a (5-minute) event summary video (see also below); full presentations from Andy Eastlake (Zemo's CEO), Seb Dance and Chris Stark; plus a video message from Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol. The page also includes the full event agenda, event images (available for download), Zemo's 20-year timeline (with download link); and written notes summarising discussions in break-out sessions focusing on freight and buses.
