With more countries committing to net zero emissions by 2050, it is important that future transportation solutions address this problem. Autonomous vehicles provide a step in the right direction whereas ride sharing will undoubtedly be a game changer with regards to sustainability.

Nyobolt is an ultra-fast charging technology company, delivering uniquely capable solutions that save valuable time and help build an exciting and sustainable future. Nyobolt develops, manufactures, and commercialises lithium-ion batteries which charge in minutes.

Cofounded in 2019 by Professor Dame Clare Grey DBE, FRS and CEO Dr Sai Shivareddy, building on a decade of research spun out of The University of Cambridge, Nyobolt has assembled a world-leading implementation team combining decades of experience in pioneering companies across the electric vehicle and battery value chains and raising £50 million in its latest Series B round. 

The Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) collaborates with UK government, the automotive industry and academia, to accelerate the industrialisation of technologies to support the transition to deliver net-zero emission vehicles.  

Since 2013, the APC has funded 188 low-carbon projects involving 426 partners, and helped to create or safeguard over 50,000 jobs in the UK. The resulting new technologies are projected to save over 312 million tonnes of CO2, the equivalent of removing the lifetime emissions from 12.6 million cars.
