Zemo's RFAS-accredited supplier BWOC has announced that it will be supplying hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) for the British Truck Racing Championships (BTRC); one of the biggest motorsport categories in the UK.
BTRC has appointed BWOC and Silvey Fleet as sustainability partners to BTRC 2024. They will be sole suppliers of HVO as a replacement for fossil diesel for the course of the season. The fuel will be supplied to trucks weighing more than five tonnes and producing in excess of 1000 bhp.
The initiative aims to help the BTRC significantly reduce carbon emissions over the course of the 2024 season.
Amy Jones, Managing Director of BWOC said: “We want to help customers decarbonise by offering innovative fuel solutions that can help reduce their CO2 emissions.
"Supplying Renewable Diesel (HVO) to the BTRC will help ensure the organisation meets its commitment to reducing carbon emissions and enhance the positive impact racing can have on the world.”
As one of the UK’s largest fuel suppliers, BWOC provides nationwide bulk supply of HVO. The company is accredited under Zemo's Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme (RFAS) which gives fuel buyers independent assurance of renewable fuel supply chain traceability.
RFAS now has 33 companies accredited under the scheme. Zemo recently announced that RFAS has gone international with suppliers in Ireland and Spain now fully accredited. (See this news link.)
