In partnership with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Centre for Cities is hosting a one-day conference in Leeds to answer the question 'how do we build on the North's strength to build an economic core at its heart?'.
The conference will include contributions from key thinkers and policymakers including Ed Glaeser, Professor of Economics at Harvard University and author of Triumph of the City.
It will be a chance for local government, businesses, academics and policy experts of the North to come together to debate and discuss how a prosperous and competetitve northern economy can be established.
In the lead up to the event, the Deputy Prime Minister is calling for idea submissions, the most innovative of which will be put to the audience and an expert panel on the day.
