Description:

The LowCVP, Transport KTN, FP7UK, SMMT and Transport iNet would like to invite you to the free FP7 funding opportunities work programme seminar. The seminar will outline the funding priorities for transport research under the FP7 programme for the year 2012. The main focus is on eco-innovation, safe and seamless mobility, and competitiveness through innovation. The event can also be attended on-line (as a webinar).

The Framework Programmes are the European Union’s main means for funding research in Europe. Under the seventh Framework Programme ( FP7), Transport research receives EUR 4.16 billion, and used to create safer, greener and smarter European transport systems and develop European competitiveness in the global market.

If you from an SME, company, research institution or university and interested in learning more about how to participate in the transport theme under the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7) then you are welcome to attend this seminar. Also attend for the networking opportunities and site visits during breaks.

At the seminar we will have a key note presentation from the European Commission on Surface Transport, European Green Car initiative, and Horizon2020. Cliff Funnell, National Contact Point, FP7UK will present on how and why to participate, with further case study presentations from an SME and indusrty, indicating the participation and on-going benifits these programmes provide. During the Networking lunch, you will have the opportunity to hear about and visit the innovITS ADVANCE testing facility and drive around MIRA’s tracks.

A draft version of the FP7 Transport Work Programme 2012, including Green Car Initiative, and outline topics is online now by using this link.

Despite its name, the Green Cars Initiative is not only for passenger cars. Under the Green Cars Initiative, research will be funded in a variety of areas such as greener combustion engines for trucks, bio-methane, and electric and hybrid vehicles and infrastructure.
