Phase 1: Welsh Stakeholder Working Group

The Wales Stakeholder Working Group was formed in Jan 2024 to bring together industry stakeholders and the Welsh Government to discuss accelerating the decarbonisation of transport in Wales.

The current focus of the group is developing an action plan for the accelerated decarbonisation of vans and trucks. The work aims to highlight actions that Welsh Gov can take to support industry alongside actions that industry can take now to decarbonise operations.

  • The programme will deliver a strong basis for the Welsh Government to develop and implement a strategy to decarbonise commercial vehicles operating in Wales.

  • Building on Zemo Partnership’s expertise and existing stakeholder communities, the programme will deliver a bespoke set of recommendations and establish the stakeholder community required to support the implementation.

  • The programme focuses on the greater use of sustainable fuels, electrification and exploring the potential role for hydrogen in decarbonising commercial vehicles in Wales.
