The Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme (RFAS) is going from strength-to-strength, with 55 companies having now gained approval. Meanwhile, the recently launched extension to RFAS for the heat, marine and power sectors is also making progress, with six companies now approved.
Newly approved companies under RFAS are:
All newly approved companies are suppliers of renewable diesel and HVO.
RFAS provides credible, third-party assurance of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions savings and feedstock traceability for renewable fuel used in commercial vehicle fleets and non-road mobile machinery (NRMM). The scheme primarily operates in the UK, and also has a presence in Germany, Austria, Spain, and the Republic of Ireland.
Meanwhile, Zemo's new extension scheme, RFAS Heat-Power-Marine is continuing to make progress, with six companies now approved to supply renewable diesel (including HVO):
RFAS Heat-Power-Marine delivers robust, independent sustainability verification for renewable fuel used in sectors beyond road transport, enhancing transparency and confidence in the value of renewable fuels in key stakeholder communities.
The RFAS Heat-Power-Marine Renewable Fuel Declarations provide a harmonised approach for reporting GHG emissions data in the downstream supply chain, support companies with their ESG goals and carbon reporting activities. The declarations also enable companies regulated under the UK Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) to evidence the use of sustainable bio-liquids in stationary combustion units.
