Zemo showcases 'Powered Light Vehicle Village' at Cenex-LCV 2022 event

A display of L-category vehicles - a 'Powered Light Vehicle Village' - organised by Zemo and partners at the Cenex-LCV Event, held at UTAC Millbrook in early September enabled visitors to discover the future potential of zero emission lightweight transport.

The initiative built on Zemo's 2021 study, published in collaboration with the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA), which showed the potential for light vehicles - from powered two wheelers to small three/four-wheeled vehicles - to offer significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions over their life cycles as well as other benefits such as cutting congestion.

The proposals were picked up in the Government's 2021 Transport Decarbonisation Plan which called on Zemo and MCIA to develop an action plan (published in February this year) to stimulate growth in the sector and identify opportunities for UK Plc.

From electric mopeds (L1) to last mile delivery vehicles (L7), the L-Category provides an array of exciting opportunities to decarbonise transport using smaller, lighter, electrified vehicles.

Once again at Cenex LCV, Zemo collaborated with Government departments BEIS and DIT plus OZEV and six other Government-linked organisations in the UK Government Pavilion. The Pavillion provided a platform for 28 government-backed project partners to showcase their game-changing green technologies.
