The Niche Vehicle Network has published a list of winning entrants of the Zero Emission Powered Light Vehicles (PLV) Feasibility Studies Competition which was launched at the Cenex-LCV 2022 Event in September. Meanwhile, Zemo has launched a new website ‘hub’ to help bring the UK’s PLV community together.

Sponsored by the Department for Transport (DfT) and supported by Zemo Partnership, the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA), and Innovate UK, the competition provides grant funding of up to £35,000 to undertake three-month duration desktop research and/or preliminary investigation activities aimed at supporting the accelerated development of innovative vehicle technologies applicable to road going zero emission powered light vehicles (PLV). Officially referred to as ‘L-Category’ vehicles, these encompass mopeds, motorbikes, trikes and quadricycle vehicle types.

  • Muon Tech Ltd

  • Lightweight Structural Composite Panels Technologies Ltd

The competition is intended to focus on accelerating the development of new on-road zero emission powered light vehicles and/or solutions to deliver increased zero emission PLV vehicle range. 

Meanwhile, a new website hub has been created to welcome members to the Zemo & MCIA Powered Light Vehicle Community. 

The initiative will bring government, industry and other expert stakeholders together to shape the future of zero emission lightweight transport in the UK.
