The LowCVP is organising a series of fringe meetings at this year's party conferences as a part of the 'Climate Clinic' - a new, collaborative initiative that aims to put UK climate change policies in the spotlight.

The 'Climate Clinic' is a new initiative for all three of this year's party conferences. It is the result of a unique collaboration between 17 NGOs, government bodies, trade and other associations, including the LowCVP. A wide-ranging series of meetings, talks, exhibitions and special events will take place at a single, large venue at the Labour, Conservative and LibDem conferences.

The LowCVP has organised a fringe meeting at each of this year’s conferences on the theme: ‘Powering Future Vehicles; can road transport rise to the climate challenge?' Each of the debates will be chaired by Geoffrey Lean, Environment Editor of the Independent on Sunday and will feature Stephen Joseph, Executive Director of Transport 2000 and a senior representative of the LowCVP. The Transport Minister, Stephen Ladyman MP, will speak at the Labour event; Shadow Transport Spokesman, Alistair Carmichael MP, at the LibDem meeting and Tim Yeo MP, chair of the Environmental Audit Committee, at the Tory debate.

All the LowCVP events will take place at the ‘Climate Clinic’. The events (in chronological order) are:

Liberal Democrat Party Conference: Tuesday 19th September, 12.45-2.15pm, ‘Climate Clinic’, Friends Meeting House, Ship St, Brighton

Labour Party Conference: Monday 25th September, 12.45-2pm, ‘Climate Clinic’, The Cube, 113-115 Portland Street, Manchester

Conservative Party Conference: Monday 2nd October, 12.30-2pm, ‘Climate Clinic’, Church House (opposite BICC), Bournemouth

Any LowCVP members and other guests are welcome to attend the fringe meetings, or any of the other events taking place at the 'Climate Clinic' (for full details of all events, follow the link below).

There will be a ‘greener' vehicle display at the Conservative Party Conference organised by the LowCVP, on behalf of the Climate Clinic partners. The display of the latest low carbon vehicles will take place outside the Climate Clinic and immediately opposite the main Bournemouth Conference Centre from 1- 4 October.

LowCVP members and others are invited to visit the display.
