Scotland announces new Centre for Low Carbon Innovation and Manufacture

The Scottish Government has recently announced £60m funding for the development of the Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc on Michelin's Dundee site. The development is the result of the work of Scotland's new Industry Advisory Group (IAG) which aims to maximise the economic opportunities available to Scotland through the low carbon transition. The LowCVP has been a leading participant in the IAG.
The initiative is an ambitious joint venture between Dundee City Council, Michelin, and Scottish Enterprise, created to drive growth and diversity in the Scottish economy while addressing the global climate emergency.
Covering a 32-hectare site in Dundee, MSIP aims to deliver a world class innovation centre, driving global research while influencing and supporting breakthroughs in sustainable mobility and low carbon energy.
MSIP will provide industrial spaces and facilities to a wide variety of organisations, research institutions and industry trailblazers addressing the global challenges facing our community, country and planet. Supplied with low carbon energy from an adjacent waste-to-heat plant and on-site wind turbines, MSIP offers the opportunity for low carbon innovators wishing to scale up their operations into substantial manufacturing businesses, with existing buildings, energy and workforce all available.
LowCVP encourages any members seeking opportunities to expand either their development or manufacturing in the low carbon sector to consider the opportunities available at MSIP.
