Plug-in Car grant claims by vehicle model reported in Parliamentary answer

Nearly half of all the claims made under the DfT's Plug-in Car grant scheme were for tne Nissan Leaf in the period January 2011 to October 2012. Of nearly 2,200 claims for grants, over 1.000 were for the Leaf. The second most popular model in this period was the Vauxhall Ampera, followed by Toyota's Plug-in Prius, though both these models came to the market later.

The figures were provided by transport minister Norman Baker in a Parliamentary answer to a question by Rehman Chishti MP.

Other vehicle models for which grant claims were made under the scheme included Mitsubishi's i-Miev, Mercedes-Benz's SMART fortwo, Renault's Fluence, Peugeot's iOn, Citroen's C-Zero and Chevrolet's Volt.
