New study supports engine re-use rather than disposal

Car manufacturers should design engines for remanufacture rather than disposal in order to meet guidelines on producer responsibility, according to ESRC's Centre for Business Relationships, Accountability, Sustainability and Society (BRASS). The researchers found that the factors that push up the cost of re-manufacturing are mostly related to the way in which new products are designed and marketed.
