Engineering company Dieselogik says it has new technology which can cut fuel consumption and emissions. Developed in the USA, the system works by heating the fuel flow to the engine and does not use additives.

Dieselogik claims that the system can save many times its own cost through improved fuel economy in any HGV or LGV over two years old. It says the device should improve efficiency by 5 to 12% in all mechanically-injected (or electronically-injected) engines.

The firm has said it is gaining ground in both the US haulage and bus industries, with over 1,000 units successfully fitted.

The Dieselogik system is now available in the UK where it is being offered to companies on a free trial basis. The company is also looking for operators to take part in field trials.
