The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership has appointed Roy Williamson as Programme Manager. Roy will be working closely with members to tackle barriers and develop opportunities for business in the low carbon road transport sector. His primary role will be to work with the Partnership’s innovation and fuels working groups to develop and take forward strategic interventions designed to hasten the low carbon shift. He will also work with the Partnership’s other working groups and some international stakeholders in low carbon vehicles. Roy has past experience of leading national innovation and collaborative-networking activities in a number of areas including new energy technologies, waste management, algae-to-biofuels and intelligent transport systems. He also helped develop and pilot the DTI (now BERR) Knowledge Transfer Networks (KTNs) before focussing on road-mapping concepts, and he also has experience of applying for and administering public sector funding.
Roy Williamson commented: “The transition to low carbon vehicles and fuels, which is taking place in the UK and elsewhere around the world, presents a major opportunity to deploy UK knowledge and expertise. Assisting businesses and helping partners work together will bring both commercial and environmental benefits”. If you would like to find out more about the Partnership’s activities in the areas of fuels and innovation, please contact Roy at [email protected] or via the secretariat.
