Mayor announces £22m investment in London to tackle climate change

Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London, has announced details of a £22m planned investment in London to protect the environment and help tackle climate change.

Amongst the Mayor's proposals, which have yet to be approved by the London Assembly, is a commitment to introduce 70 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles into London by 2010.

The Mayor will also continue to develop proposals for a Low Emission Zone for Greater London that will introduce high charges for the most polluting lorries, buses and coaches.
