The first formal meeting of the re-formed LowCVP Commercial Vehicle Working Group will take place at Edgbaston, Birmingham on the afternoon of Wednesday March 1st 2017, alongside the Freight In The City Summit 2017

Topics for discussion will include prioritization and planning of the LowCVP commercial vehicle work programme for 2017/18. This is currently expected to include:

  • (Further) gas and urban-delivery vehicle testing
  • Nitrous Oxide (N2O) investigation
  • Development of the retrofit technology accreditation scheme
  • Arrangements for next meeting of DfT’s Ministerial Low Emissions HGV Task Force (planned for April/May)
  • Options for a low emission commercial vehicle focus at this September’s LCV 2017 Show
  • Progress in LoCITY and Innovate UK projects
  • Building effective links with the growing number of national and international green freight initiatives.

For this first meeting the LowCVP is extending an open invitation to all our commercial vehicle contacts. The normal model for LowCVP working group meetings is for them to be restricted to LowCVP members only. We currently plan to follow this convention for the second and subsequent meetings of CVWG.

Non-members are thus very welcome to join the Edgbaston meeting and we hope that many will do so. We hope that the meeting will also provide an opportunity to see how future engagement through LowCVP membership will allow participants to make full use of the opportunities that membership presents. These include the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, to collaborate with experts from across the sector and to influence local, regional and national policy.

For further details and to request a place at the meeting on March 1st, please contact the LowCVP Secretariat.
