In its most recent round of online seminars (webinars) LowCVP has focused its attention on the UK's nascent electric vehicle market and progress on the supporting recharging infrastructure. The two webinars are now available to view again on-line.

In a collaboration with What Car? magazine, the LowCVP hosted an on-line discussion on the market prospects for electric cars in 2011. The online discussion took place shortly after the introduction of UK government grants worth up to 5,000 towards the purchase of electric and plug-in hybrid cars and the arrival of high profile new models to the UK market. What Car? Editor-in-Chief Steve Fowler gave an overview of the current state of the electric vehicle market and prospects for the remainder of 2011, while OLEV's Director, Michael Hurwitz updated participants on the progress of the scheme.

In a separate evetn, Dr Colin Herron presented the experience of One North East in delivering an electric recharging infrastructure in North-East England as one of the first three recipients of Government funding under the 'Plugged-in-Places' initiative. Dr Herron, Manager for Manufacturing and Productivity at One North East presented his thoughts in a webinar chaired by the LowCVP Managing Director, Greg Archer.
