LowCVP is inviting nominations for senior stakeholders to stand for election to the Partnership's Board of Directors. New Board members will join at a critical phase as the Partnership repositions itself to support the increased pace of transport decarbonisation, after the UK commitment to Net Zero by 2050 and as we approach the publication of the Government's Transport Decarbonisation Plan next Spring. The deadline for nominations has been extended until 15 Feb. (See note below.)

The Board will be crucial in establishing the Partnership as the focal point for the next phase of transport decarbonisation across a wider group of stakeholders than ever before. Nominations are invited to the Board for individuals who can help us deliver on our next three-year strategic plan.

Elected Board positions are for a three-year term and existing Board members can stand for re-election at the end of their term. Prospective directors are elected from within the paid-up membership and require nomination from LowCVP members within their stakeholder group.

As a director, the commitment is to contribute to the quarterly Board meetings, usually held in London, or virtually, in the afternoon and to support the development of key LowCVP strategic objectives.

Having a strong board of senior figures is key to the effective governance and successful strategic development of the Partnership and to ensure its credibility and standing within government, industry and other key stakeholder groups.

This elected role also provides significant opportunities to gain knowledge and understanding, and a valuable perspective on wider policy relating to this vital agenda.

Elected positions are available in four of the Partnership’s membership stakeholder groups:

  • Automotive manufacturers
  • Transport operators and consumer organisation
  • Public sector (including trusts, agencies NDPBs and local government)
  • Environmental, academic and other organisations

Any current member may nominate a representative to stand for election and subsequently vote.

For more information about the process and for nomination papers, please contact the LowCVP Secretariat

The deadline for receipt of nominations to the LowCVP Board is 15 February.

Note: The deadline for nominations has been extended to ensure that all stakeholders have an opportunity to respond. A database communication error meant that all eligible contacts did not receive the notification when it was originally sent before Christmas.
