LowCVP gives evidence to Welsh Assembly on transport decarbonisation

LowCVP has given evidence to the Economy, Infrastructure and Skills Committee of the National Assembly of Wales, focusing on transport decarbonisation. LowCVP's Managing Director, Andy Eastlake, gave evidence to the Committee on October 23, advising the Committee on raising the trajectory of transport decarbonisation from 80% prescribed by the Climate Change Act to the new net zero target.
Addressing the Committee, Andy Eastlake said: "We're going to have to go faster than is suggested at the moment if we're to meet the latest targets that the Committee on Climate Change have proposed and that the national, the UK, Government has adopted into the Climate Change Act."
Andy Eastlake talked about the necessity of decarbonising the fuels supplied for transport and of the need to begin to incorporate a life-cycle assessment in policy decisions. He also talked about the importance of modal shift and innovative initiatives to maximise the efficiency of use of vehicles use, including vehicle sharing and collaborative approaches.
