Lord Oxburgh appointed as Non-exec Director of biodiesel producer

Lord Oxburgh, the former Non-executive Chairman of Shell Transport and Trading, has been appointed as a Non-executive Director of D1 Oils, a UK-based producer of biodiesel, with the intention that he becomes Chairman in early 2007.

Lord Oxburgh is a long-standing public advocate of the need to address climate change issues. He has recently been an adviser to Climate Change Capital, a specialist investment banking group focused on companies and financial institutions affected by the policy and capital market responses to climate change.

D1 Oils is a Middlesborough-based supplier of biodiesel. The company's operations cover agronomy, refining and trading and it designs, builds and operates and markets biodiesel refineries.
