Governments must account for aviation growth or climate efforts will fail - Tyndall Centre

According to a new report from the Tyndall Centre, the failure of governments to account for the growth in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from international aviation and shipping has led to a serious underestimation of the measures needed to achieve GHG reduction targets.

In the UK context, the report says that most other sectors of the economy must effectively become carbon neutral if the country is to achieve a 60% cut in carbon dioxide emissions by 2050 while allowing for the predicted growth in aviation.
