Following the General Election, the Prime Minister has reshuffled the Cabinet and made a number of changes to ministerial teams with influence over the low carbon agenda.

At Cabinet level, Alistair Darling remains Secretary of State for Transport while Alan Johnson (pictured) becomes Secretary of State for DTI. Margaret Beckett remains Secretary of State at Defra.

There are more changes at junior ministerial levels. Dr Stephen Ladyman becomes Minister of State for Transport (replacing Tony McNulty, who moves to the Home Office). Derek Twigg and Karen Buck are the new junior transport ministers.

Malcolm Wicks is the new Minister for Energy at DTI. Elliot Morley becomes Minister of State for Climate Change and Environment (a new title) and John Healey continues as Financial Secretary to the Treasury.

The opposition leader Michael Howard has also named his shadow team which now more closely reflects the structure of the Government departments. Alan Duncan becomes Shadow Transport Secretary; David Willetts is Shadow at DTI and Oliver Letwin will Shadow Margaret Beckett at Defra. George Osborne becomes Shadow Chancellor.

For the Liberal Democrats, Tom Brake becomes Shadow Transport Secretary, Norman Lamb joins Charles Kennedy's Shadow Cabinet to cover Trade and Industry while Vince Cable remains as Shadow Chancellor.

(Note that the Government's original intention to rename DTI as the Department for Productivity, Energy and Industry will now not take place.)
