The Government has announced a consultation on future industrial strategy - Invest 2035: the UK's modern industrial strategy - which it says will focus on skills, competition and technology adoption to drive the UK's growth mission.
In a foreword to the consultation document, Chancellor Rachel Reeves says: "Growth is the number one mission of this government. Our new industrial strategy is central to that growth mission.
"This green paper sets out our vision for a modern industrial strategy – a credible, 10-year plan to deliver the certainty and stability businesses need to invest in the high growth sectors that will drive our growth mission."
The strategy focuses on eight growth-driving sectors which offer the highest growth opportunity for the economy and business. These have been identified as:
- advanced manufacturing
- clean energy industries
- creative industries
- defence
- digital and technologies
- financial services
- life sciences
- professional and business services
The Government is seeking views on how challenges in these areas might be addressed.
Zemo Partnership will be providing input to the consultation.
The deadline for responses is 24th November 2024.
