Go Ultra Low launches Hero to Zero Emission Miles Challenge for schoolkids

Go Ultra Low has launched ‘Ben Fogle’s Hero to Zero Emission Miles Challenge’ – it’s a competition for school children to see who can do as many zero emission miles in a week as possible, including in electric cars (BEVs, PHEVs driven in electric mode or FCEVs!).
Schools/teachers are invited to sign up through the National Schools Partnership Initiatives page.
The ‘Ben Fogle Hero to Zero Emission Miles Campaign’ aims to empower pupils to choose low and zero emission travel, whilst educating them about the benefits of going green and how to reduce their personal carbon footprint.
Pupils up for the challenge will record the number of 'zero emission miles' - a mile travelled without any personal carbon emissions - they travel over a 7-day period, such as those covered walking, using a manual scooter, cycling, on public transport, or in electric vehicles.
Ben Fogle is the campaign ambassador and has been promoting and supporting the competition across his social media. Ben will support the campaign and encourage people to get involved.
Schools in England and Wales can get involved, with all primary school pupils between the ages of 7 and 11 eligible to take part in the challenge, which forms part of a series of lesson plans on going green and low emission transport.
For the winning pupil there are great prizes on offer: two tickets to Formula E and a talk at their school by Ben Fogle and an electric vehicle engineer.
