EcoVelocity announces test drives at low carbon motor show, ExCel, London from 5 May

The low carbon motor show, EcoVelocity, has confirmed the manufacturers which will be providing vehicles available for test drives by visitors from May 5-13. Vauxhall, Peugeot, Mia, Honda, Nissan, Citroen and Chevrolet will all offer the opportunity to test drive their offerings on the 3.5 mile roadway. The LowCVP Conference on May 10 runs alongside EcoVelocity and Conference delegates will have a free pass to the Show.

The test route will be on a public road complete with traffic lights and roundabouts to allow drivers a realistic driving experience.

EcoVelocity organiser, Giles Brown told TheChargingPoint.com: “Test drives when taken in isolation can be time consuming. Our unique offering and facility will allow visitors to take almost back-to-back test drives, giving motorists the opportunity to make direct comparisons and work out which vehicle best fits their requirements.” Visitors wanting to drive a test vehicle must bring along both parts of their driving licence.

EcoVelocity has also said it will become the first UK car show to be carbon neutral after striking an agreement with Carbon Neutral Investments.The low carbon motor show will offset its carbon emissions by supporting a hydro-electric project in India.

This year’s show will include a main theatre featuring presentations and discussions from industry experts about low-carbon motoring. EcoVelocity runs alongside LowCVP's Ninth Annual Conference at ExCel in London Docklands with the keynote address being delivered by theSecretary of State for Transport, Justine Greening. LowCVP delegates will receive a complementary pass to visit EcoVelocity and its partner show Grand Designs Live.
