On Wednesday 31 March 2004, the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP) and the Institute of Logistics & Transport (ILT) are hosting a one-day conference on "Driving into the Low Carbon Economy - low carbon vehicles and sustainable transport solutions" as part of the 4th Annual Climate Change Solutions Conference at the NEC, Birmingham (30 March - 01 April 2004). Energy minister Stephen Timms MP will open the event, the biggest conference and showcase for environmental technology and business solutions in the UK.

The LowCVP conference session on low carbon transport will focus on solutions and opportunities that the UK’s shift to low carbon fuels and vehicle technologies offers to businesses, fleet managers, local authorities and private customers in the UK. The programme will provide a strategic overview on Government policy, technology and fuel pathways, grant support and best practice across the motor and logistic industry.

Speakers from LowCVP member organisations (PSA Peugeot Citroen, Ricardo, the Department for Transport, MG Rover, Energy Saving Trust, Johnson Matthey, the Institute of European Environmental Policy and Transport for London) will share their organisations' low carbon strategies and outline opportunities for clean low carbon vehicles and fuels in the UK.
