LowCVP to host UK eBus Summit for Horizon 2020 project

The LowCVP is hosting a national launch event for the Horizon 2020 project 'Electrifying Public Transport in Citites' or eLITPIC. The UK e-Bus Summit on 10 November will showcase best practice examples of electric bus and infrastructure deployment in the UK alongside an introduction to the variety of demonstration projects being undertaken across 12 European cities, including London.
eLIPTIC aims to accelerate the uptake of electric vehicles in the public transport sector by demonstrating the business case for using existing infrastructure assets to support the charging of electric buses and other city EVs such as taxis.

The Summit will take place from 9.00am to 5:30pm at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Holborn, Central London, 10th November 2016
The UK e-Bus Summit will present a range of initiatives from eLIPTIC partners across Europe, including Transport for London's demonstration project exploring the potential for the London Underground Network to charge electric buses overnight. UK operators and local authoritires will provide insights into a selection of key electric bus fleets from across the UK.
The LowCVP will also use the occasion to launch a new report: 'A Green Bus for Every Journey', the second publication in the Partnership's Greener Journey's series which presents a variety of case studies about low emission bus fleets in operation across the UK. Visitors will be able to pick up their free copy of the report on the day or download a digital copy from the LowCVP website.
After lunch, delegates will have the opportunity to visit the Go-Ahead Group bus depot in Waterloo for a tour of the supporting infrastructure for the largest fully electric bus fleet in the UK.
The UK e-Bus Summit is an ideal opportunity for UK and European stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities to expand electric bus market. The event is free to stakeholders, but sign up early to avoid missing out. The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel is 5 minutes walk from Holborn Tube Station which is on the Piccadilly Line.
