Description:

The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Intelligent Energy and Segway Inc are holding an event to introduce the Segway - an innovative, low-emissions personal transport system which could help to ease congestion and reduce carbon emissions in UK cities.

The organisers explain that Segways are licensed to operate in many European countries and in 42 US States and are made to operate at a maximum speed of 12.5mph, with the speed normally set at 10.5mph or 3.75mph. More than 200 police departments and local authorities internationally use the machines.

Speakers at the event include: Colin Challen MP (Chair Intelligent Energy APPG), Robert Goodwill MP (Shadow Transport Minister), Norman Baker MP (Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary of State for Transport), and Steve Pound MP (Treasurer, Motorcycling APPG)
