This conference examines the options the country faces on the future of the road network looking at how road pricing could be implemented, developing models for more strategic long-term planning and funding and looking at examples of countries which have been successful in changing public opinion on road user charging. The UK economy depends upon its infrastructure and its road network in particular. The Eddington report emphasised the vital role of transport networks in sustaining productivity and competitiveness and this was followed up in the DfTs guidance on Delivering a Sustainable Transport System which identified key transport corridors.

This conference will examine the options the country faces on the future of the road network, looking at how road pricing could be implemented, developing models for more strategic long-term planning and funding and looking at examples of countries which have been successful in changing public opinion on road user charging.
