Description:

Net Zero Week will be a national awareness week; a focal point for generating awareness and momentum for businesses and consumers starting the journey to decarbonise, acting as an information hub for those already on their way. It will be an annual event, this year taking place three months before the UK hosts the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in November 2021 Glasgow.

Reaching net zero will require many new measures, innovative solutions, aggressive government policies and plenty of human effort both at work and at home.

The week has widespread support across the industry with over 35 associations - including Zemo Partnership - currently partnering the initiative, and many more finalising their support.

The national awareness week offers all stakeholders a dedicated platform to voice opinions, share evidence, explore strategy, and highlight solutions in our shared journey towards net zero.

The content will be split into two distinct areas – business and consumer.

The business section will be content-led aimed at professionals that require insight, evidence-based material, and thought-leadership articles to aid them in their task of decarbonising their organisation no matter what role they have.

The consumer section will be more advice driven, exploring lifestyle choices and their direct benefits.

The official national awareness week for all things net zero will take place annually and is taking place for the first time during the 17th-23rd July 2021.  Net Zero Week is a government-supported initiative.  Former Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy Secretary Greg Clark MP is an ambassador for the week.

Greg Clark said: “Climate change is the single greatest challenge facing mankind.  The UK is leading the world in rising to this challenge and can take pride in being a nation that is not just showing ambition but one which holds a record to match.  We all have a stake in this and I applaud the efforts of individuals, organisations and initiatives like Net Zero WeekTM in highlighting the importance of this vital work.”

Zemo Partnership is an official partner of Net Zero WeekTM and as such we are working closely with the organisers to ensure that our voice is heard.  All Zemo Partnership members are invited to get involved by supplying editorial and comment pieces to get your company’s news and views featured on the Net Zero Week website – www.netzeroweek.com

Zemo Partnership members can supply as much editorial and comment as they wish between now and the end of June 2021. This is a free of charge agreement we have made with the organisers – so please take advantage.

Furthermore, if you have any older editorial or comment pieces that are still up to date and relevant to net zero or that can be repurposed/updated, then make sure you send these to be uploaded and featured on the website.  NB – Please send an image alongside your stories.

If you would like to explore the week further with the organiser, then please do get in touch directly with Shawn Coles.
