International Conference on Vehicle Aerodynamics

Add to Calendar 2018-10-16 9am 2018-10-175pm Europe/London International Conference on Vehicle Aerodynamics

Aerodynamics continues to make an increasing contribution to the performance and characteristics of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorbikes, bicycles and also in motorsport. Not confined to absolute performance and energy use, customer demand for reduced wind noise and soiling while increasing visibility and comfort requires aerodynamicists to be involved in more aspects of design, development and testing than before. (NB LowCVP members can register at IMechE member rates.)

Description:

Aerodynamics continues to make an increasing contribution to the performance and characteristics of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorbikes, bicycles and also in motorsport. Not confined to absolute performance and energy use, customer demand for reduced wind noise and soiling while increasing visibility and comfort requires aerodynamicists to be involved in more aspects of design, development and testing than before. (NB LowCVP members can register at IMechE member rates.)

These demands together with the necessity to comply with stringent worldwide legislation have seen a significant increase in the volume of wind tunnel testing and computational analyses conducted in recent years.

For the future, new technologies in powertrain, connected and autonomous vehicle designs and the desire to reduce weight will place a further emphasis on the contribution of aerodynamicists and may require new processes, techniques and facilities to respond to additional challenges in use and ownership.

The 12th International Conference on Vehicle Aerodynamics will cover the latest developments and technologies in aerodynamics, aeroacoustics and aerothermal design, test and development.
