This panel will address topics and answer questions such as:
- Will we need a new infrastructure for a Green Economy based on clean energy?
- Can our electricity grid cope with large volumes of intermittent clean energy resources?
- What role will smart grid technology play in integrating large scale renewable energy?
- Can small scale, distributed clean energy resources play a role in smoothing the flow of energy to the grid?
- What is the role of storage technologies? And which technologies should we focus on?
- Can a hydrogen infrastructure play a role in integrating clean energy?
The Future of Road Transport
This panel will address topics and answer questions such as:
- Will electric vehicles become a mainstream part of the future Green Economy, or remain a niche?
- Is the technology available for commercial scale electric vehicles - and batteries?
- Are we building the appropriate infrastructure for EV charging?
- What is the role of biofuels? How will the EU Biofuel directive be implemented? Will we see flexfuel vehicles in the UK?
- Can fuel cell or hydrogen vehicles offer a viable alternative in the UK?
- Is the UK motor industry adapting and innovating fast enough to the Green Economy?
