There is growing interest in using natural gas and biomethane for transport under the Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation. According to the Natural Gas Vehicle Association there are already 1.2 million NGVs in use across the European Union.  In the UK there are over 700 gas-powered HGVs operated by leading household brands and many more lighter delivery vehicles running on natural gas.
