Description:

The Renewable Transport Fuel Association (RTFA) is a new trade association, established in September 2020 with 12 founder members. It now has 36 corporate members, including all UK bioethanol and biodiesel producers, all companies dispensing biomethane for transport and all prospective manufacturers of sustainable aviation fuel. The RTFA has one full time executive, but is now in a position to consider recruiting.

RTFA is looking for an individual who can assist with policy development, with an emphasis on building the quantitative evidence base to support its advocacy work. The successful applicant will be working closely with Gaynor Hartnell, the Chief Executive, supporting her in her representation of the industry to relevant stakeholders. With such a small team, there is the opportunity to get involved in a broad range of activities, including writing and delivering external communications. The ideal candidate will be flexible, ambitious and proactive. There will be occasions when the Policy Analyst will be expected to deputise for the Chief Executive.

Tasks will involve contacting the members for information on their companies, (for example their projects, their output, employment levels) as well as online sources such as price indices or import statistics; analysing information on emissions and carbon savings; compiling reports assisting with quantitative aspects of responses to consultations; gathering data for specific tasks. Much of the data gathered is commercially confidential information.

The applicant should be highly numerate, with good verbal and written communication skills, and be familiar with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams (and various equivalents). Enthusiasm for professional social media (e.g. LinkedIn) would be desirable.

The successful applicant will be working from home. Salary dependent on experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a newly-established trade association working in the environmental agenda on the very important topic of decarbonising transport.

For more information, send a covering letter and CV to gaynor@rtfa.org.uk.
Deadline: Friday 15th July.
