The Council has developed a Climate Emergency Action Plan and the decarbonisation of fleet is a key component. We are commissioning work to develop an EV infrastructure for the county to tackle the lack of accessibility to charging and mitigate the social disparities that arise for those without offstreet charging. We have developed our own solar farm and are key to explore how this can be used to create green hydrogen to service our HGV and bus fleet as well as working with Riversimple on trialing hydrogen cars. We are exploring PV car ports and the provision of EV infrastructure at our sites and car parks.
