LowCVP at LCV 2013: 'Meet the University', sign up for LCAD and join the Partnership!

The LowCVP will be exhibiting at next week's Low Carbon Vehicles Event, the UK's largest low carbon automotive trade event. The LowCVP is co-hosting a 'Meet the Universities' reception at LCV - which takes place at Millbrook Proving Ground on 4-5 September - and will also be promoting registration to the new on-line Low Carbon Automotive Directory. Moreover, prospective members interested in joining the LowCVP will be able to benefit from a 20% discount on membership fees by registering to join at the LowCVP stand at the Show.

Government launches £10m prize to encourage ULEVs development

The Government has announced a new £10 million prize to encourage the development of the next generation of ultra-low emission cars. The prize will be awarded for technological developments which will enable ultra-low emission vehicles to achieve the same range and running time as conventionally fuelled vehicles without needing to stop or burn fossil fuels.

Government commits £25m capital funding to encourage waste-to-fuel advanced biofuels

The Department for Transport has announced £25 million of capital funding to enable the construction of demonstration-scale waste to fuel and other advanced biofuel plants in the UK. The money will support significant private sector investment in one or more demonstration-scale advanced biofuel plants in order to drive the development of the UK’s biofuel industry.

Government announces winning bids for £37m funding to support recharging infrastructure

The Government has announced the winning bids for the first round of funding, worth £37m, to subsidise the cost of installing infrastructure for recharging electric vehicles.  NHS trusts, local authorities and train operators will now be able to install charging points for electric vehicles on their property and on town and city streets at 25% of the full cost, while the Government will provide the other 75%.

LowCVP to co-host 'Meet the University' reception at LCV (Sept 4) to aid collaboration with industry, SMEs, trade bodies

LowCVP and UKTI are to host a first “Meet the University” reception at LCV2013. The networking reception, which will take place on the 4th September 2013 between 5pm and 6:30pm, will be held in Hall 2. It aims to provide an ideal opportunity for UK university representatives to meet with industry participants, including overseas visitors, UK SMEs, as well as UKTI overseas officers.

Low Carbon Vehicle Event 2013 - registration closes Monday 2 September, 5pm

Now in its 6th year, LCV is one of the UK's leading, national low carbon vehicle events featuring a major exhibition (including ride and drive opportunities), conferences, seminars, networking and other activities. The LowCVP will be exhibiting and otherwise playing an active role at the event including promoting the Low Carbon Automotive Directory supported by the Dept for Business and UKTI.

GreenFleet Scotland Event
5th Sep 2013

GreenFleet Scotland, in partnership with the Energy Saving Trust, is the only event for Scottish fleet managers and heads of transport seeking to manage their fleets more efficiently, reduce fuel and running costs, and save money. 2013 promises a significant gathering of low and zero emission vehicles, available for test drive. A number of electric vehicles will also be making their first appearance at a Scottish event.

Maximising Machine Efficiency for Off Highway

Rising fuel cost, limited renewable energy and anticipated future legislation on fuel economy is demanding a continuous reduction of fuel consumption and improved fuel economy for off highway engine applications. This international seminar will bring speakers from a number of European companies together to examine the latest technological advances that can improve whole vehicle efficiency for the power generation, construction and agricultural sectors.

Developments in Electric Vehicles - NB EVENT CANCELLED

Organised by the Society of Chemical Industry's (SCI) Science and Enterprise Group, this is the first in a series of SCI events to explore solutions for electrification of transportation. Speakers include Dame Professor Julia King, Ian Allen of Vauxhall and John Lowes of Zero Carbon Futures. Delegate rates for the event are discounted for members of the LowCVP. THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED.
