First LCV- LowCVP awards dinner, Sept 10, sold out


The inaugural LCV-LowCVP Awards networking dinner to be held in Milton Keynes alongside Cenex's Low Carbon Vehicle Event 2014 is now sold out. The evening will feature the announcement of the winners of the LowCVP Low Carbon Champions Awards and will be preceded by a drinks reception to be held at the offices of the new Transport Systems Catapult which is adjacent to the event venue.

Technology Strategy Board announces competition to invest in collaborative R&D projects

The Technology Strategy Board has announced that it is to invest up to £7m in collaborative R&D projects to encourage technologies for road-vehicles that will deliver significant reductions in CO2 emissions.

China Government considering big investment to boost electric vehicle uptake

According to the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), China is considering committing as much as US$16 billion in funding for electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities in a bid to boost demand for EVs. The Chinese Government has adopted a number of recent initiatives designed to boost EV uptake.

New report says European EV sales have doubled each year since 2010

A new report from the Brussels-based NGO T&E says that sales of electric vehicles have doubled each year in Europe since they were first marketed seriously in 2010. Data from the European Environment Agency shows that nearly 50,000 plug-in vehicles were sold in 2013, around 0.4% of all cars sold in the EU.


Study says that UK manufacturers are reaping the rewards of high levels of innovation

A new study from the manufacturers' organisation EEF says that UK manufacturers are reaping the rewards of high levels of innovation over the past few years. However, the 2014 EEF/Natwest Innovation Monitor shows strong demand is now putting pressure on internal resources from management time to working capital and, as a result manufacturers have focused on a smaller number of innovative activities aimed at satisfying existing customers.

LowCVP to take part in LCV 2014 - UK's largest low carbon vehicle trade event

The LowCVP will be exhibiting at LCV2014, the UK's largest low carbon automotive trade event on 10th and 11th September at Millbrook Proving Ground. The LowCVP is co-hosting a dinner - featuring the LowCVP Low Carbon Champions Awards and will be involved in several other seminars and activities. Moreover, prospective members interested in joining the LowCVP will be able to benefit from a 20% discount on membership fees by registering to join at the LowCVP stand at the Show.


LowCVP at the 2014 Party Conferences

The LowCVP is happy to be supporting the Sustainability Hub's 2014 events at the three leading party conferences. The Sustainability Hub provides a platform for groups collaborating to engage directly with key political contacts and influential stakeholders on climate change and sustainable economic development at the party conferences and in other settings.

LowCVP guest speaker takes part in China conference on low emission vehicles

The LowCVP's Head of Projects, Gloria Esposito, was guest speaker at an event in Beijing organised by the Innovation Centre for Energy and Transport (ICET) on 15 August. Her presentation to a wide-ranging and international group of senior stakeholders focused on the LowCVP's activities in influencing UK policy and demonstrating best practise in stakeholder engagement.

Cenex-LCV 2014 Dinner featuring the LowCVP Low Carbon Champions Awards

The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP) is inviting organisations that have made a real difference in the area of low carbon transport to apply for the Low Carbon Champions Awards. There are seven categories, covering areas ranging from cars to innovations, and the winners will be announced at a new event – set to be the low carbon transport networking event of the year - on Wednesday September 10 2014.


Cenex-LCV2014

Cenex-LCV 2014, the UK's largest Low Carbon Vehicle and technology event, will be held on 10th & 11th September 2014 at the Millbrook Proving Ground. The seventh in a series of national low carbon vehicle events run by Cenex, this year LCV2014 provides exhibitors with a technology exhibition area based in three halls, as well as outdoor exhibition space on the Steering Pad for both static vehicle displays, and space for vehicles participating in the ride & drive activities on Millbrook’s tracks.


GreenFleet Arrive 'N' Drive

The GreenFleet Arrive N Drive event will give fleet managers the opportunity to test drive the latest clean vehicles on a world class race track whilst also showcasing organisations that encourage efficient driving techniques and green fleet management practices. Over 100 types of vehicle will be on show, with electric and range-extended technology featuring prominently.


Trade Mission: Canada-UK Automotive Networking Reception

The event is organised by Enterprise Europe Network Canada in conjunction with EEN Midlands, the Canadian High Commission in London and the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters. Delegates will have the opportunity to explore possible business relationships.


Electric Vehicle Summit 2014

The Electric Vehicle Summit provides a platform for knowledge sharing between the automotive sector, government and academia to share knowledge about the development of the EV Sector in Surrey. Transport Minister Baroness Kramer will give the keynote address.
