IVECO Group have been a pioneer in the field of alternative fuel stretching back 30 years with the development and introduction of our gas engines. Fast forward to now and we are leading the way with our range of spark ignition Bio-Methane trucks in weight ranges from 3.5 to 44 tonnes using both compressed natural gas and Liquified Natural gas technologies to provide carbon neutral transport solutions using the “well to wheel” calculation.
To promote the benefits of Bio-Methane as a viable alternative to traditional fuels we work closely with key strategic partners and fuel suppliers to help enable our customers transition and adapt their logistics to suit the refuelling network.
IVECO see our gas products underpinning the transition to a zero emission future through to 2040 at which point IVECO have committed to become a carbon neutral company.
In addition to our work on Bio-methane all our Fiat Power Train engines are compatible with other low carbon fuels such as Hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and Gas to liquid (GTL) as a drop in fuel solution. Our new range of engines to be launched in our new model year will also be Hydrogen combustion ready adding further to our portfolio of low carbon transport solutions providing a suitable source of green hydrogen becomes available.
The most recent addition to our portfolio of on road heavy transport is the addition of both battery electric and fuel cell electric vehicles covering the 3.5-7.5 tonne range and the 40-44 tonne range.
To conclude, IVECO have committed to become carbon neutral by 2040 and we have a range of solutions which can achieve carbon neutrality now, we occupy a unique space amongst OEM’s in that we have a low or zero tailpipe emission product in all weight categories from 3.5 – 44t.
